SHIPPING AND RECEIVING – GENERAL
Reports to: Packing Lead/Plant Manager
Location: West Chicago
FSLA Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of Position
The Shipping and Receiving department verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards. Their main goal is to always ensure timely, accurate and secure shipping and distribution.
Job Duties
- Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with Packing Lead to notify the shipper and rectify damages and shortages
- Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base
- Assists in maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
- Inspect labels and barcodes
Skills and Experience Required
- One year of factory-related experience
- Be able to lift up to 25 lbs. routinely
- Ability to stand for minimum of 8 hours
- Must work well with others
Education or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- United States Work Authorization (Required)
