Summary of Position
Shipping Managers are responsible for various tasks such as packaging, verifying content for shipping, receiving packages, ordering supplies, leading and managing staff. Their main goal is to always ensure timely, accurate and secure shipping and distribution.
Job Duties
- Plan and implement overall shipping strategies
- Use shipping software to organize and prioritize shipping activities
- Oversee the entire shipping process
- Set shipping KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Prepare and present KPI Reports for department
- Suggest solutions for process optimization
- Inspect labels and barcodes
- Supervise and oversee shipping team members
- Responsible for all company vehicle maintenance/repairs, etc. and report updates to executive management
- Build and maintain professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders (such as warehouse workers, vendors, purchasing managers, suppliers, etc.)
- Identify shipping issues and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Create and present reports as needed to upper management
- Other duties as assigned by upper management
Skills and Experience Required
- 5 years of experience as a Shipping Manager or similar role
- Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents
- Hands on experience with shipping and distribution software
- Good leadership skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem solving
Education or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required); College Degree in supply chain, logistics or similar relevant field preferred
- United States Work Authorization (Required)
