Summary of Position
Set-up, Operate Lasers and Turret Punch Presses. Includes setup, tooling and loading in machine to produce a variety of small, medium and/or large parts, ranging from simple to complex, which are within prescribed tolerances.
Job Duties
Department Lead
- Operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) on respective AMADA brand equipment
- Performs machine set-ups, adjusting and loading tooling, and making changes at the controls for parts as required for specifications set forth in blueprints, drawings, engineering orders, etc.
- Check parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances
Operator/Setup
- Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and/or materials to Supervisor or Quality Control Specialist (QC)
- Setup and operate machines, independently with limited supervision
- Ensure the work area is kept clean and free from hazards
- Collaborate with other departments as needed
- Assist in departmental measurable goals relating production concerns, quality and efficiency
- Assist in monthly inventory count to ensure proper inventory control
- Actively look for ways to improve the profitability and productivity of the company
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience welcomed but not necessary, willing to train the right motivated individual
- Ability to interpret documents and drawings
- Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Must be organized and pay close attention to detail to optimize quality processes and increase efficiency
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely
- Ability to stand for minimum of 8 hours
Education or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required); College Degree preferred
- United States Work Authorization (Required)
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: Amada Vipros, Amada EMK, Amada AE, Turret Press Machines, Mitsubishi Laser
